FAIKAM NGAI
ABAMS PRESIDENT
Kam Ngai opened his first restaurant in 2003 and by 2006 had created The Ichiban Dining Group which generated two concepts: a Chinese/Japanese upscale buffet and a Japanese hibachi and sushi bar. In 2009 and 2011, Berry Berry Good (a frozen yogurt shop) and Red Samurai Express
(a casual Japanese hibachi) were added, respectively, to the Ichiban Dining Group’s portfolio.
The following years proved to be particularly successful with five new Ichiban locations being established across the Jackson Metropolitan area in Flowood, Pearl, Brandon, and Madison. Ichiban restaurants went on to garner accolades including "Best Asian Food" and "Best Asian Restaurant in Mississippi."
In 2020, after helping to create the ABAMS, Kam Ngai became the honorary president of the Asian Business Association of Mississippi.
